“We greet our clients as we would longtime friends—on equal footing and rooted in real, everyday life. To us, architecture and interior design is not the spark of a passing moment, but the quiet unfolding of a way of life, a sensibility that gradually takes form in both private and public spaces.”
Sebastian Treese Interiors was founded in 2022. The studio positions itself as an independent yet consistent continuation of the architectural ethos of Sebastian Treese Architects within the interior realm.
Emerging from many years of work on classical, timeless architecture is the conviction that architecture and interior space—particularly in residential buildings—are inseparable. Both arise from a shared design philosophy and achieve their full quality only through the interplay of proportion, material, construction, and atmosphere. The interior is not understood as a supplementary layer, but as an integral part of the architecture.
Sebastian Treese Interiors operates at the scale of lived space. Its designs are characterized by material depth, artisanal precision, and a quiet sense of inevitability. Design does not follow trends, but rather a clear order that allows for durability and permanence.
The studio accompanies projects continuously—from the early conceptual phase through planning and execution to the development of bespoke built-in elements, furniture, and furnishings. Interiors are conceived as a precise, restrained continuation of the architecture, with an emphasis on longevity.
Working in close collaboration with specialized manufacturers, master craftsmen, and selected international partners, the studio creates spaces of exceptional quality. Sebastian Treese Interiors stands for an approach grounded in calm, care, and cultural continuity—and for interiors conceived as homes, designed to endure over time.
About Sebastian Treese Interiors
June Hong is an architect and Managing Director of Sebastian Treese Interiors.
Born in Seoul and exposed early on to different cultural contexts, she developed an intuitive understanding of design as an integral part of everyday life. This formative influence continues to shape her work today—not as a stylistic reference, but as an underlying attitude.
Her architectural studies at the Berlin University of the Arts laid the foundation for her professional path. Architecture became a field in which artistic intuition, constructive clarity, and spatial order converge—and in which design ultimately proves itself through use, within the lived-in space.
Since 2013, June Hong has been part of Sebastian Treese Architects. Over many years, she worked on realized residential projects and was closely involved in the planning and execution of complex buildings. This continuous engagement with the built work, from design through construction, shaped her understanding of architecture as a coherent whole and sharpened her awareness of the importance of material, proportion, and detail.
It was out of this long-standing collaboration and shared architectural ethos that Sebastian Treese Interiors was founded in 2022. The joint establishment of the studio with partners Sebastian Treese and Jan Burggraf represented a consistent continuation of this approach, with a clear focus on the interior as an integral part of architecture.
June Hong’s work operates at the scale of lived space. She does not regard interiors as an autonomous layer of design, but as places where architecture, everyday life, and individual ways of living converge. Design emerges from proximity, attentiveness, and care—quiet, enduring, and beyond short-lived effects.
